Quotes for headers, are based on raw steel.
With no previous coatings such as aluminizing, jet hot, or HPC, or other similar coatings. Also painted. If chromed, the minimum charge to remove as much of the chrome as possible, say on small block shorty block huggers will be $45.00 on up. If headers do have a coating on them, then the cost, other than chrome, is a minimum of $30.00. (We cannot guaranty the adhesion over previously chromed headers)
The same holds true for exhaust pipes, and mufflers. The best thing to do is let us look at what you have, and then we will cost as needed. We are always more than fair.

CHROMEX (polished chrome look),

We will have a new silver, unpolished, coming out shortly this year.
We also do polishing on almost any metal. This is done on an hourly rate of $45.00 per hr. you’ll have to trust on this one! but we haven’t been in business for 37 years by overcharging people!!
To complement the polishing if we do it or not, is a Micro Clear coat that we apply over just about everything. It is an air dry clear, 95% gloss, and is impervious to almost all organic solvents. In fact, we haven’t found anything besides media blasting that will remove it. This coating will also withstand temperatures up to 800 F.
The best thing to do is come on by our modern 25K sq. ft. shop look at the facility, and show us what you want done, the quality of the finish you are looking for and that way we can price the job for you and give you what you want at a fair price for both of us.

Exhaust Pipes up to 3” Dia. = 12.50 per linear ft. If coating required inside, and we do recommend doing at least pipe directly from the collector, add $4.50 per linear ft. Exhaust tubing over 3” is an additional $2.50 per linear ft., or $15.00 per linear ft. interior coating cost will stay the same at $4.50 per linear ft.
Muffler coatings cost range from $35.00 to $80.00 ea.
PLEASE, PLEASE REMEMBER, if you send us beat up headers to coat you will receive back a pair of beautifully coated set of beat up headers!!!
The coatings will not hide or fix corrosion, dents, etc.. Also please be aware that if headers are rusted badly, they may have area come part in our blasting process. If that happens we will contact you before going ahead and welding since there will be a cost for that.
All headers are; cleaned/power washed with a phosphate treatment, inside and out, media blasted, and burned off before coatings are applied.
We also are doing a lot of our CHROMEX Coatings on many parts that always were chrome plated in the past. A lot of people have found our coatings to work better in many applications, since the CHROMEX will handle the heat, gas, oil, and about anything else you can spill on it.
CHROMEX
We have a minimum charge of $85.00 on CHROMEX process. If you have brackets, bolts, springs, other items, try to bring in at one time to get your moneys worth on the minimum. We are also doing HOOD and TRUNK hinges, the cost around $45.00 ea. We need to look at them first, but $45.00 ea. Is usually good.
If grinding on headers, or exhaust pipe is required, or if the pieces are for show cars, there is an additional cost for this work, and we charge by the hour at a rate of $45.00 per hour, plus materials; grinding discs, sand paper, steel wool, scotch brite pads etc.

HEAT REDUCTION COATING
WOW! A COATING THAT CAN REDUCE YOUR ENGINE TEMPERATURE 15 TO 18 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our BLACK Heat Dissipation coatings will help to transfer heat at a faster rate, reducing operating temperatures. Test have shown that radiators made of aluminum transfer heat 60% faster when coated with our black. Brass / copper components transfer heat 40% faster and steel components transfer heat 65% faster than un-coated parts.
Oil coolers, transmission coolers, brake systems, condensers, gear box cases, as well as radiators all have shown an increase in performance and a reduction of operating temperatures with this black.
PRICING PER SQUARE INCH = .20 per sq. inch. For example from the outermost points of your radiator, measure height, and then width. EXAMPLE: 18 X 28 = 504
504 inches X .20 = $100.90 got it?
All items sent for this coating must be received clean and free of paint or other finishes. Used parts should be pressure tested by a radiator shop before coating. Any fabrication must be done prior to coating.
POWDER COATINGS
All prices are based on a single coat process. Most of the Effects powders, lollypops, and candies require two different powders. The same for the color fades as well. For these types if finishes cost is usually 50-100% higher. If you decide to use a color we do not have in stock, we will need to order and have to charge you for the cost of material plus freight, unless it is a production / repeat type of job where we can amortize the cost into the piece price.
For parts that were previously painted, or have platting the cost will be higher since old materials must be removed prior to putting on the new powder coating. We will need to look at the parts before a price is given, usually not very costly.
Most of all prices given are just general costs which can change depending on the quality of the parts, and the quality you are looking for in the end results.
NOTE: PLEASE REMOVE ALL THINGS THAT WILL NOT WITH STAND 400f. BEFORE BRINGING TO US. WE ALSO NEED TO KNOW IF THERE MAY BE ANY SOLDER ON THE PART! IT MAY HAVE TO BE REMOVED, AND WE MAY NEED TO RE-FILL THE AREA WIL FILLER THAT CAN WITHSTAND THE HIGH TEMPERATURES ASSOCIATED WITH BAKING POWDERS.

OTHER PROCESSES
We also do Micro Slick coatings on piston skirts, bearing surfaces, almost anywhere friction could be a problem. We first used this type of coating back in the late 1960’s for parts on tanks that were not easily greased.
We also do a heat barrier coating on the tops of pistons, which reflects the heat and spent gases back to the head and out of the exhaust valves. Yes we do coat the valve faces also. Pricing on request, but one piston with both coatings is around $48.00 each.
